PostSubject: ~ Raiding Kara~   ~ Raiding Kara~ Icon_minitimeFri Feb 08, 2008 11:08 pm

Hi All,

Just want to talk about items I think we should all be looking at... Kara is the topic. As you all know lately Fridays & Saturday we have formed a Kara group to raid. This is not a mandatory thing to do, but when we do its been quite a bit of fun for us all (at least to me), and our casual guild lifestyle.

However we have been challenged very much so fighting bosses. Many challenging things come into play in clearing mobs & defeating those bosses, and we as a guild have to look at. Trust me I'm no expert or have spent hours and hours researching. I search, listen, and try to understand things. One thing that works against us is that some of us (including me) may not be properly geared for Kara. Less gear = higher damage.... no big secret here, but makes healing a group very hard and staying alive even harder as well.

Now the down fall is for those who are more experience and have more equipped gear will suffer with much higher repair bills, and faced with frustration of not being able to progress at least a little. For example for me last weeks run for me was close to 20 gold repair 6- 8 health pots used (5 pots for 12-15gold per stack) me medium geared, please don't get me wrong I enjoyed every minute played.

Now I'm not telling people what to do, but rather encourage people to look at your spec, gear, try to understand your character, understand your fight, work as a team in and outside of the 5 man and or raid, and ask questions. Trust I'm just as guilty as far as research / planning and getting upgrades to improve my performance, as real life and work are my primary concerns, just a fact of life, but WoW is one thing I do enjoy very much, and I would like to see us get better at whatever we decide to do as a guild.

I feel that for Kara at this point we need to improve stats / spec / gear, understand fights, teamwork. I would like to propose that we should continue to raid Kara but be wise, if we wipe twice on Attumen we better stop there, if we wipe 3 times on Moroes stop there, if we wipe twice on Maiden stop there and so on... I feel what we did last time was fun, but didn't make sense wipe after wipe. I'm not one for giving up, but after the 3rd time we should have stopped.

Now with all that being said I would like to offer some info / tools to others... if ya have them and or have some items you would like to share with others please do. Also remember when discussing stats, spec, equipment of your own and others respect there choices, but also help educate, help others understand & discuss... I call this constructive criticism good stuff its helped me out quite a bit and i thank those that have help and answered my questions.

Here is a few tools / info everyone should look into if you are unfamiliar with Kara (1-4 Bosses) and other odds and ends....

Thanks,

Rad

Understanding Fights

Where we stand Kara Bosses 1-4 ...

This is the first fight we encounter... I feel this one we have down very well

2. Moroes ( http://www.wowwiki.com/Moroes )

2nd fight we encounter... We have defeated him, but very tough at times

3. The Maiden Of Virtue (http://www.wowwiki.com/Maiden_of_Virtue)

3rd fight we encounter... We have defeated here only a couple of times

4. Opera Event http://www.wowwiki.com/Opera_Event

4th fight we encounter... We have not defeated this but maybe once that i can remember.

Thanks Rad. When this says minimum this means MINIMUM. These stats are only good for the first few encounters. If you don't at least meet these stats, try looking for a good gear guide on the WoW forums for the stuff that best for your class/spec pre-raid. If anyone needs help with their class or spec questions I'm willing to help all that I can. If you need to upgrade, browse the WoW Forums for a guide to gearing for kara. I have used a guide for my shaman and found it VERY helpful. If you take the time to properly gear and spec your toon, we will all benefit from it when we raid. Hope this stuff helps everyone. It did for me.

Great gear guide, and like bethell said these are the minimum, I for one am going to challange myself to not just meet but overcome these requirements and if more people do likewise it will make our kara experience so much more.
